PPP and Sunni Ittehad Council Candidates Secure Seats in Sindh Senate By-Elections

In the upcoming interim elections for two general seats of the Senate in Sindh province, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Sunni Ittehad Council have emerged victorious, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The candidates of PPP, Waqar Mehdi, and Makhdoom Mehtiar Ahmed Dhamra, along with Jamil Ahmed from Sunni Ittehad Council, have secured their positions in the Senate elections.

As per the schedule of the interim elections, the polling for the Senate’s interim elections in Sindh will take place on March 14th, from 9 am to 4 pm, at the Sindh Assembly Building.

On the other hand, the Election Commission has also released the final list of candidates for the three vacant general seats of the Senate from Balochistan.

A total of nine candidates will contest for the three vacant general seats in Balochistan. The polling for these seats is scheduled for March 14th as well.

According to Mohammad Fareed Afridi, the Election Commissioner of Balochistan, the final list of candidates for the three vacant general seats of the Senate has been issued.

Furthermore, on the last day of candidacy withdrawal, one candidate has withdrawn their nomination papers, as confirmed by the Election Commission.

The victory of PPP and Sunni Ittehad Council candidates in Sindh Senate by-elections reflects the political landscape’s dynamics and the parties’ stronghold in the province. These results will likely have implications for the balance of power within the Senate and influence legislative decisions in the future.
