The trend of successful independent candidates backed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) joining the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) in both the National and Provincial Assemblies continues, as 82 nominated independent MNAs have submitted their affidavits for membership in the SIC.
According to sources, an additional 32 PTI-backed successful independent candidates from the National Assembly have also submitted their affidavits to the Election Commission for inclusion in the SIC.
It is reported that 9 successful independent candidates supported by PTI in the Sindh Assembly have also submitted their affidavits for joining the SIC.
Overall, the Sunni Ittehad Council has compiled a list of 82 successful independent candidates from the National Assembly who have won seats and are now joining the party, as per sources.
Sources also indicate that the list of successful independent candidates and their statements regarding joining the party have been submitted to the Election Commission by Prince Hameed Raza, the head of the Sunni Ittehad Council.
This ongoing trend signifies the growing influence and support of the PTI-backed successful independent candidates towards the Sunni Ittehad Council, potentially altering the political landscape in the assemblies.
