In response to the recent arrest of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Barrister Gohar Khan demanded that the Supreme Court take suo-motu notice of Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s arrest, urging the court to ensure the safety and security of PTI workers.

Shahbaz Sharif argued that the Peshawar High Court’s decision regarding the Election Commission’s authority is equivalent to an attack on the commission’s powers. He called on the entire nation to expect justice from the judiciary, stressing that justice should be impartial and not tilt the balance in favor of any specific party.

He reminded the audience that while moving towards burying the politics of hatred and division, PTI needs to first acknowledge and repent for its past mistakes. Bhutto asserted that the PPP wants to see the past mistakes corrected, but this requires the PTI to seek forgiveness and make amends.

Maryam Nawaz, a prominent leader within PML-N, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that the enduring connection with the public is the party’s true source of strength. She encouraged citizens, particularly urban and socially conscious individuals, to use the portal to input suggestions that could give a real shape to progress in the fields of education and healthcare.

The Election Commission emphasized that the utilization of the EMS system is exclusive to polling days, downplaying any concerns about its potential failure. The spokesperson regarded labeling the system as unsuccessful as baseless and non-serious. The decision to limit the system’s usage to polling days is a strategic measure to streamline its effectiveness and avoid unnecessary risks.

The Election Commission emphasized that voter lists are prepared under the Joint Electorate system according to the law. These lists are not created based on any religious criteria, and any candidate or other individual can obtain copies of voter lists according to the prescribed procedure.

Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry are accused of making derogatory remarks against the Election Commission, undermining its authority and integrity. The open trial, as requested by Chaudhry, implies a public scrutiny of the legal proceedings, allowing for transparency and accountability in the face of serious allegations.

Wassan expressed the desire of the PPP that general elections should take place at their scheduled time. This statement underscores the party’s commitment to the democratic process and the adherence to the electoral timetable.

Shah specifically mentioned Bashir Memon, a figure associated with law enforcement, stating that Memon lacks the political experience required for effective leadership. He predicted that February 8th would mark the victory day for the Pakistan Peoples Party, indicating confidence in the party’s electoral prospects.
