Expressing his view on the future of Pakistani politics, Khattak remarked that the prospects for PTI in the political arena are bleak. He predicted that the remnants of the PTI would be wiped out on February 8, signifying the end of PTI’s turbulent journey in Pakistani politics.

Asifa Bhutto assured that Sanghar would also have its own ATV channel, and cards for farmers and youth would be distributed. She underscored that the PPP has always been committed to the welfare of the poor and has served them diligently.

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja emphasized that the security situation in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is improving, instilling confidence in the overall electoral process. He confirmed that the general elections will take place nationwide on February 8, leaving no room for ambiguity.

Ahmed Shah asserted that both the federal and provincial governments are ready for the elections, with all relevant authorities collaborating with the Election Commission. He emphasized that elections will take place on time, and the government is working towards ensuring security and peace.

Balochistan remains the only province with a gender gap exceeding 10%, amounting to 6 lakh. Interestingly, the registered voters in the 65 age group in Balochistan are predominantly male.

He further stressed that the Jamaat-e-Islami is fully committed to defending the Islamic character of the constitution and will oppose any attempts to undermine the distinctive identity of Pakistan as an Islamic state. The leader of Jamaat-e-Islami rejected the notion that the former rulers’ alliances or promises could sway the nation towards secularism, reaffirming the importance of preserving the Islamic values enshrined in Pakistan’s constitution.

Federal Election Commissioner Rauf Hassan emphasized that the electoral procedures and guidelines are detailed in the Election Rules 2020, which are available on the official website and the application. Polling will be conducted from 10 AM to 4 PM, and the announcement of polling stations and appellate tribunals is scheduled for February 1.

The collaboration between Sindh Rangers and the police underscores a coordinated approach to ensure the security and integrity of the electoral process. This joint effort signifies a commitment to maintaining a peaceful environment during the elections, essential for fostering public confidence in the democratic process.

Presiding Officers, under Section 174 of the Election Act, will have the authority to take corrective actions, including penalizing individuals for any violations or disruptions encountered during the electoral process. This proactive approach ensures that Presiding Officers are equipped with the tools to address issues promptly, contributing to the overall efficiency and fairness of the election proceedings.
