In the National Assembly constituency NA-43 Tank and Dera Ismail Khan, re-polling is scheduled to take place on February 19th at 9 polling stations. The decision to deploy the military was obtained through a summary submitted by the Ministry of Interior, citing Articles 220 and 245 of the Constitution to ensure peace and security.

On the other hand, the spokesperson for the US National Security Council, Jan Kirkby, expressed concerns about apparent irregularities in Pakistan’s elections. Kirkby mentioned reports of intimidation, voter suppression, and other such incidents, which have raised alarms in the private sector.

Moreover, Siddiqui’s assertion that negotiations for government formation have not yet begun suggests that political stakeholders in Pakistan are still in the initial stages of coalition-building and power-sharing discussions following recent elections or political developments.

Previously scheduled for February 17, the re-polling at these stations has been rescheduled. The polling hours are set from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The political landscape has witnessed a significant shift with the formation of this coalition, which enjoys a total of 156 seats in the National Assembly. With additional seats expected to be secured through alliances, crossing the threshold of 172 required for government formation seems achievable.
