Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Challenges Election Result in NA-15 Manshera

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has challenged the election result of National Assembly constituency NA-15 Manshera.

The challenge was filed in the Election Commission, citing difficulties in communication due to snowfall in several areas of Manshera. The application highlighted that more than 125 polling stations did not submit Form 45, yet the results were announced, prompting the request to halt the results from NA-15.

It’s noteworthy that Nawaz Sharif faced defeat in NA-15 Manshera to the supported independent candidate, despite a close contest.

According to the unofficial and non-governmental results from all 550 polling stations in the constituency, independent candidate Prince Mohammad Ghasitasp Khan secured victory with 105,249 votes. Nawaz Sharif trailed behind with 80,382 votes, securing the second position.

Nawaz Sharif’s decision to challenge the election outcome underscores the significance of fair and transparent electoral processes in Pakistan. The issues raised regarding the submission of Form 45 and the announcement of results without complete documentation highlight the importance of adhering to electoral protocols to ensure the integrity of the democratic process.

As the Election Commission reviews the challenge and addresses the concerns raised, the outcome of the dispute will shape the political landscape in NA-15 Manshera and influence perceptions of electoral fairness and accountability.

The challenge also reflects the competitive nature of Pakistani politics, where even prominent figures like Nawaz Sharif must navigate the intricacies of electoral procedures and outcomes. Regardless of the final decision, the challenge underscores the commitment to uphold democratic principles and transparency in the electoral process.
