Iqrar Ul Hassan Missing After Reported Late-Night Pickup

Iqrar Ul Hassan

Iqrar Ul Hassan, chief of the Pakistan Awam Raj Tehreek, was allegedly taken from his residence during a late-night incident, leaving his family uncertain about his whereabouts. His family claims that a group of people entered the house by breaking the front door and took him away, while authorities have denied having him in custody.

The incident has raised questions about his whereabouts and prompted calls for authorities to establish where he is being held, if in custody, and under what circumstances he was taken away.

According to his family, the individuals who entered the residence also confiscated mobile phones, a laptop, a digital video recorder (DVR), and CCTV footage. The family has expressed concern over the lack of confirmed information about his location.

Wife Describes Alleged Late-Night Incident

Farah Iqrar, one of Iqrar’s wives, said she was asleep when a loud doorbell woke her. She alleged that by the time she became aware of the situation, a large number of people had already entered the premises.

Farah said she asked the individuals who they were but was allegedly pushed during the encounter, sustaining an injury to her hand.

According to her account, two women were also present with the group, while two men took Iqrar away after he came out of his room.

She further alleged that the individuals removed several electronic devices and surveillance materials from the house, including Iqrar’s mobile phones, his laptop, the DVR, and CCTV footage.

Farah also claimed that her two mobile phones were taken when she attempted to contact family members.

“I saw ‘NCCIA’ written on the arms of the women. Other than that, I know nothing,” she said, describing what she claimed to have observed during the incident.

These details remain allegations made by the family and have not been independently verified in the available information.

NCCIA Denies Having Iqrar in Custody, Lawyer Says

The reported incident has become more concerning for the family because of uncertainty surrounding the involvement of law enforcement agencies.

Iqrar’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, said the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) denied having his client in custody when the matter was raised before a judicial magistrate.

Ashfaq said the court specifically asked the agency about Iqrar Ul Hassan’s custody and whether he could be produced before it.

According to the lawyer, the NCCIA categorically denied holding him.

The reported denial has intensified questions about his whereabouts. If an individual is allegedly taken away by a group whose members appear to identify themselves with an agency, but that agency denies holding the person, the family may face significant difficulties in determining where to seek further information.

However, the available account does not establish which individuals took Iqrar or whether any other agency was involved. Those questions remain unresolved.

Punjab Police Also Denies Arrest

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari stated that the Punjab Police had not arrested Iqrar Ul Hassan.

She said the matter was being investigated and that the family would be informed as soon as verified information became available.

“The Punjab Police has not arrested Iqrar ul Hassan. The matter is being investigated, and as soon as any verified information about him is received, his family will be informed,” Bukhari said.

Her statement indicates that the provincial government was aware of the reported incident, although it did not clarify who had allegedly taken him away or where he might be.

The family’s immediate concern remains obtaining reliable information about his location and ensuring that the circumstances surrounding the incident are properly examined.

Quratulain Appeals to Maryam Nawaz

Iqrar’s other wife, Quratulain, has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the provincial administration to intervene and help establish his whereabouts.

She expressed concern that the family had no information about where he was, whether allegations were being prepared against him, or when he might be released.

Quratulain urged the chief minister to take specific action and direct the administration to help locate him as quickly as possible.

Her appeal reflects the family’s distress over the absence of confirmed information and its demand for immediate clarification from the relevant authorities.

Questions Remain Over Iqrar Ul Hassan’s Whereabouts

The reported disappearance of Iqrar Ul Hassan has raised important questions about accountability, access to legal remedies, and the responsibility of authorities to clarify a person’s status when allegations of an unexplained pickup are made.

The family has described an incident involving alleged forced entry and the removal of electronic equipment, while the NCCIA and Punjab Police have denied holding or arresting him, according to the statements reported.

At present, the available information does not establish who took Iqrar, where he is, or the reasons behind the reported incident.

The immediate priority is to establish Iqrar Ul Hassan’s whereabouts and provide his family with verified information. A clear account from the relevant authorities, along with any necessary legal proceedings, would help address the uncertainty surrounding the case and allow the allegations to be examined through appropriate legal channels.
