Pezeshkian said the shared interests and destinies of Iran and Pakistan were becoming increasingly connected. He stressed the importance of greater coordination and cooperation between the neighbouring countries.
The Iranian president reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to strengthening comprehensive relations with Islamabad and expressed his willingness to take further steps based on mutual trust, respect and the existing potential between the two countries. He also prayed for Pakistan’s development, prosperity and continued progress.
China Highlights “Ironclad Friendship”
China also extended warm wishes to Pakistan. The Chinese embassy in Islamabad described Pakistanis as brothers and sisters and wished the country peace and prosperity.
The embassy emphasised the long-standing friendship between the two nations, using the phrase “Chin–Pak Dosti Zindabad” to underline the strength of bilateral ties.
The message reflected the importance of the China-Pakistan relationship, which covers economic cooperation, infrastructure, trade and diplomatic engagement.
US Highlights Cooperation
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also extended congratulations to the Pakistani people on Pakistan Independence Day 2026.
Rubio highlighted areas of cooperation including regional mediation, critical minerals, energy, counterterrorism, cultural heritage, trade and investment. He said cooperation in these fields could help transform shared capabilities into practical progress for both countries.
His message reaffirmed the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and the United States while focusing on areas where the two countries can work together in the future.
Russia, Türkiye and Other Nations Send Wishes
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent Independence Day greetings to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He said Russia-Pakistan relations were developing successfully, with both countries cooperating in political, economic, trade and humanitarian fields.
Putin also noted cooperation on regional and global issues and expressed confidence that bilateral ties would continue to strengthen.
Türkiye, which recently signed a joint defence agreement with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, congratulated what it called its friendly and brotherly partner. Azerbaijan and Bahrain also extended greetings to Pakistan.
Egypt’s Foreign Ministry expressed its desire to deepen the historic friendship and partnership between Cairo and Islamabad. Germany’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Ina Lepel, shared a video message wishing Pakistan peace, prosperity and development while expressing hope for stronger Pakistan-Germany relations.
Maldives Reaffirms Fraternal Relations
Former Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih also congratulated Pakistan on its 79th anniversary. He extended greetings to President Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistani people.
Solih expressed hope that the longstanding fraternal relationship between the Maldives and Pakistan would become even stronger in the years ahead.
