Blue origin set for second launch of New Glenn rocket on November 9.

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ aerospace company, Blue Origin, has announced plans for the second launch attempt of its super-heavy-lift rocket, New Glenn, with liftoff expected as early as Sunday, November 9, from Launch Complex 36 at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

The New Glenn rocket, capable of carrying both crew and cargo to multiple orbital destinations, marks a major milestone in Blue Origin’s long-term space exploration ambitions.

The rocket’s first flight in January was largely successful — its second stage reached orbit, though the first stage was lost during reentry before the company could attempt a controlled landing on a drone ship.

Originally planned for a late spring 2025 launch window, the second mission faced several scheduling delays as the company refined its systems and conducted additional testing.

For this launch, Blue Origin is exercising extra caution since the rocket will carry payloads for paying customers. The mission’s primary cargo includes NASA’s twin ESCAPADE spacecraft, designed to study Mars’ magnetosphere, along with a Viasat technology demonstrator.

If successful, the mission will mark another step forward for Blue Origin’s goal of becoming a key player in the commercial spaceflight industry, competing alongside SpaceX and other global launch providers.
