Spotify and Netflix partner to bring video podcasts to the streaming platform.

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Spotify video podcasts will soon be available on Netflix, marking a major expansion for both streaming giants.

The partnership will introduce a curated collection of shows from Spotify Studios and The Ringer into Netflix’s library, featuring popular titles such as The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Zach Lowe Show, The McShay Show, The Rewatchables, and Conspiracy Theories.

Set to launch in early 2026 for U.S. viewers, the rollout will expand to other markets later in the year. The move reflects the growing popularity of video podcasting, a space currently dominated by YouTube. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos first hinted at the collaboration in April 2025, citing rising viewer demand for podcast-style visual content.

Netflix’s VP of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy, Lauren Smith, said the partnership will “introduce fresh voices and perspectives” to the platform, adding that it makes Netflix’s lineup “more exciting than ever.”

Meanwhile, Roman Wasenmüller, Spotify’s VP and Head of Podcasts, described the partnership as “a new chapter for podcasting,” emphasizing that the collaboration will help expand discovery and give fans “a new way to experience their favorite stories.”

The deal underscores both companies’ commitment to diversifying their entertainment offerings and bridging the gap between streaming video and digital audio storytelling.
