Funeral prayers held for twelve Pakistan Army martyrs of Pak-Afghan conflict at Chaklala Garrison.

Funeral prayers for twelve Pakistan Army soldiers who embraced martyrdom during the Pak-Afghan conflict were held at Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi, on Sunday, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The Namaz-e-Janaza was offered for the twelve brave soldiers who laid down their lives defending the motherland against the unprovoked and cowardly aggression launched by the Afghan regime on the night of October 11–12, 2025.

The solemn ceremony was attended by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff; Federal Ministers; the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; senior civil and military officials; and members of the public.

During the occasion, the Defence Minister paid tribute to the fallen heroes, stating, “The people of Pakistan are indebted to the ultimate sacrifice of these brave sons who defended the country’s territorial integrity against the treacherous aggression of the Taliban regime and Indian-sponsored terrorist proxies operating from Afghan soil.”

He reaffirmed that the Armed Forces of Pakistan remain steadfast and fully prepared to counter any form of aggression or conspiracy against the nation with the unwavering support of the people.

Earlier, hostilities along the Pak-Afghan border intensified when Taliban militants and allied terrorists launched a coordinated overnight assault on Pakistani border posts. The Pakistan Army responded decisively, killing hundreds of attackers and capturing multiple enemy positions, ISPR reported.

The military’s media wing stated that on the night of October 11–12, 2025, Afghan Taliban and Indian-sponsored elements of Fitna al Khawarij initiated an unprovoked attack along the border, involving both heavy fire and physical raids. The operation aimed to destabilize Pakistan’s frontier regions and promote terrorism in line with the adversaries’ nefarious agenda.

In retaliation, Pakistani forces exercised their right to self-defence and successfully repelled the assault, inflicting heavy losses on the attackers. Precision strikes and physical raids were carried out against Taliban camps, posts, training facilities, and support networks operating from Afghan territory—specifically targeting groups linked to Fitna al Khawarij (FAK), Fitna al Hindustan (FAH), and ISKP/Daesh.

ISPR emphasized that all possible measures were taken to avoid collateral damage and ensure the safety of civilian lives.
