Trump announces new tariffs, energy deals, and AI initiatives at global summit.

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a sweeping set of new tariffs, ranging from 15% to 50%, on multiple countries during his address at the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Summit.

Speaking on global trade, Trump revealed that the United States is actively engaged in high-level negotiations with the European Union, is nearing a trade agreement with China, and has reached a deal with Japan to reduce tariffs to 15% through diplomatic discussions. He stated that countries conducting fair business with the U.S. would benefit from lower tariff rates.

The president emphasized that his administration aims to bring down oil prices and is entering into new energy agreements with several Asian nations as part of broader economic cooperation.

In a significant update on U.S. foreign policy, Trump also discussed a new arrangement with NATO, under which European allies would finance and deliver military equipment to Ukraine. He stressed that European nations would cover the full cost of the U.S.-supplied weapons.

Turning to technological advancement, Trump declared that the U.S. is leading the global race in artificial intelligence and confidently claimed that America is surpassing China in AI development.

During the summit, Trump signed three executive orders related to trade, national security, and AI innovation, signaling a multifaceted approach to strengthening America’s global position across key strategic areas.
