Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in her message on World Brain Tumor Day, described brain tumors as a “silent but destructive disease,” emphasizing the urgent need for awareness and timely medical intervention.
She noted that brain tumors present not only a severe medical challenge but also an emotional and psychological ordeal for patients, families, and healthcare providers. “A brain tumor is more than just a physical illness — it becomes a daunting test for the patient, their loved ones, and even the treating physicians,” she said.
Highlighting the critical importance of early detection, the chief minister stressed that timely diagnosis and treatment can save lives and improve quality of life.
Maryam Nawaz underscored the need for widespread public education to combat hidden health threats. “Educating the public is one of the most powerful tools we have in fighting silent diseases like brain tumors,” she remarked.
Reaffirming her administration’s commitment to strengthening cancer care, she announced that the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital will serve as a vital center of hope and healing for cancer and tumor patients across the province.
