Petrol and diesel prices set for increase in February 2025 review.

Petroleum prices are expected to rise by up to Rs6 per litre in the upcoming fortnightly review for the first half of February 2025. According to sources, the price of petrol is set to increase by Rs3 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) is anticipated to see a rise of Rs6 per litre.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is preparing to send a summary to the relevant ministry to revise the prices. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will consult with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif before finalizing the new prices, which are expected to be announced on January 31.

In the previous review, the government raised petrol prices by Rs3.47 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs256.13 per litre. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel was increased by Rs2.61 per litre, setting the new price at Rs260.95 per litre.
