PTA holds consultation on VPN registration and facilitation.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) organized a consultation session at its headquarters to discuss the registration and facilitation processes for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).

According to an official release, key stakeholders participated in the session, including the CEO of Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Chairman of Pakistan Software Houses Association (PASHA), CEO of Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA), and representatives from the Ministry of IT and Telecom (MoIT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

PTA emphasized its commitment to supporting legitimate VPN users by enhancing data security and providing uninterrupted internet services, particularly for critical sectors like software houses, BPO firms, banks, embassies, and freelancers.

The session facilitated discussions on refining VPN registration mechanisms to ensure secure internet access while maintaining business continuity, reflecting the authority’s proactive approach to balancing cybersecurity with industry needs.
