Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir paid a visit to the Tilla Field Firing Ranges near Jhelum, where he witnessed field firing and battle drills, as stated by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
According to the ISPR, during his visit, the army chief received a briefing on the training objectives set for the exercise, which aimed to validate the operational readiness of the formation in a challenging environment.
General Munir, during his inspection, praised the seamless coordination displayed by the Air Force, Army Aviation, and ground troops in executing various operational drills.
He also commended the troops for their combat proficiency and offensive spirit, acknowledging their high morale and readiness for battle.
Upon his arrival, Lieutenant General Syed Aamer Raza, Commander 4 Corps, welcomed the army chief.
Last week, COAS Munir emphasized that terrorists and their affiliates, acting on behalf of hostile elements attempting to destabilize Pakistan, would be relentlessly pursued until they surrendered to the state.
These remarks were made during his interaction with officers and troops stationed in the Sherwangi area near Asman Manza in South Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). Six brave soldiers had tragically lost their lives a day earlier while courageously battling terrorists.
The COAS lauded the unwavering determination of the troops in combating the threat of terrorism, stating, “Our martyrs are a source of pride, and their sacrifices will not be in vain until we achieve complete peace and stability in Pakistan.”
During his visit, General Munir received a comprehensive briefing on the current security situation, including ongoing intelligence and counter-terrorism operations.
The COAS was warmly received by Commander Peshawar Corps upon his arrival.
