PTI President Parvez Elahi’s NAB custody extended.

The custody of PTI President Parvez Elahi, in the custody of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), has been extended once more. This extension is related to his alleged involvement in a corruption case.

NAB officials presented Parvez Elahi before the court as his previous remand period came to an end.

During the hearing, Elahi’s legal team informed the court that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Elahi’s cousin, had deposited Rs120 million in Elahi’s bank account, countering NAB’s allegations.

NAB had requested a 14-day extension of Elahi’s custody to allow for further investigations. However, the court granted an extension until a specified date.

This development comes amidst ongoing legal proceedings and a plea filed by Elahi in the Lahore High Court regarding his detention and its compliance with prior court orders.
