A 40-year-old man from Balrampur district, Surguja division, suffered a brain haemorrhage, which doctors believe was triggered by exposure to loud DJ music. The case, involving Sanjay Jaiswal, shocked medical professionals as he had no prior history of high blood pressure, illness, or injury.
Two days before his hospital visit, Jaiswal experienced dizziness while loading equipment into a DJ vehicle. Although he initially dismissed it, his condition worsened that evening with vomiting and severe head pain. A CT scan revealed a blood clot in the back of his brain, typically associated with high blood pressure or trauma.
Dr. Shailendra Gupta from Government Medical College Ambikapur explained that Jaiswal admitted his dizziness began while working near loud DJ music, which worsened his condition. Dr. Gupta noted that loud noises could cause brain haemorrhages, especially in individuals with a vulnerable occipital region.
The incident underscores ongoing concerns about noise pollution in the region. Last year, Chhattisgarh High Court criticized the state government for inadequate noise control, leading to stricter regulations on DJs and amplifiers.
