Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has called for stringent action against a gang involved in the theft of medicines from hospitals across the province.
In a statement on Wednesday, the minister labeled the theft a serious criminal act and assured that the Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education would conduct a thorough investigation. He emphasized that those responsible would face the full extent of the law.
Expressing concern over the situation, Rafique disclosed that private hospitals reported the highest number of stolen medicines. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring accountability and preventing future incidents.
Authorities have been directed to swiftly identify and arrest those involved, ensuring hospitals remain free from corruption and malpractice.
