A 55-year-old man has been diagnosed with Congo fever in the city, according to Dunya News. The patient was admitted to the Fatima Jinnah Institute, where his blood sample was sent for testing due to suspicion of the virus.
Hospital officials confirmed that the blood test results were positive for the Congo virus. The patient is currently receiving treatment in the institute’s isolation ward.
Health experts are urging people, especially those working with livestock, to take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of this deadly virus. Last year, multiple cases of Congo fever were reported in Quetta, with some resulting in fatalities.
