Shah Rukh Khan is heading to the United States for urgent eye surgery following complications from a recent procedure in Mumbai. This development comes after the Bollywood star’s recent hospitalization for a heat stroke during an IPL game.
The beloved actor, known for his roles in films like Main Hoon Na and Jawaan, is seeking immediate medical attention in the US after an eye treatment in Mumbai did not go as planned. According to Bollywood Hungama, Khan visited a Mumbai hospital on July 29, but the treatment did not proceed as expected, prompting the need for further intervention abroad.
Earlier this year, Khan experienced severe dehydration while attending an IPL match in Ahmedabad, leading to his hospitalization at KD Hospital. Despite the health scare, he was able to recover in time to attend the IPL final, where his team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), clinched the championship with an 8-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). During his hospitalization, Khan received visits from close friends, including actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta, as well as his wife, Gauri Khan.
In addition to his medical issues, Khan is set to be honored with the Pardo alla Carriera award at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, running from August 7 to 17. The actor has had a remarkable year with hits like Pathaan, Jawaan, and Dunki, and is expected to star in Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film King, featuring Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist and his daughter Suhana in a role.
