FBR expands ‘tajir dost scheme’ registration across Pakistan.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has successfully registered over 46,237 traders and shopkeepers under the ‘Tajir Dost Scheme,’ extending its reach to 42 cities including Faisalabad and Sialkot.

In major cities, 41,906 retailers have been enrolled, with Lahore leading at 17,358 registrations, followed by Karachi with 6,818, and Rawalpindi with 6,736 registrations.

The FBR aims to register a total of 3.2 million shopkeepers and traders, emphasizing inclusivity across both large and small cities. A recent video conference meeting between the FBR Chairman, Regional Tax Offices, and traders underscored the agreement to broaden the scheme’s scope before introducing any new taxation measures affecting traders.

Moving forward, the registration process will commence in additional cities such as Multan, Mardan, Sukkur, Sahiwal, Sargodha, DG Khan, and Gujrat, ensuring comprehensive coverage nationwide under the ‘Tajir Dost Scheme.’

Simultaneously, the FBR is set to issue a draft notification concerning proposed tables for indicative income based on commercial property valuation tables, expecting feedback from traders across various cities on the draft SROs by July 15.
