Today (Tuesday), marks the third death anniversary of the renowned folk singer, Shaukat Ali, who left an indelible mark on the world of music with his mesmerizing voice and profound artistry.
Born on May 3, 1944, in Malikwal Town, Gujrat, Shaukat Ali hailed from a family deeply rooted in the artistic tradition. He carved his niche in the realm of Sufi music, captivating audiences with his wide vocal range and heartfelt renditions of Sufi poetry.
In recognition of his exceptional talent and contribution to the cultural heritage of Pakistan, Shaukat Ali was honored with the prestigious Pride of Performance award in 1990.
Throughout his illustrious career, Shaukat Ali enchanted listeners with his soul-stirring melodies. His patriotic anthem “Jaag utha hai sara watan” during the 1965 war continues to inspire and uplift the spirits of our soldiers even today.
Not confined to national borders, Shaukat Ali’s talent transcended boundaries, as evidenced by his memorable performance at the Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982.
