Following his oath-taking as the 14th President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari was accorded the Guard of Honor ceremony at the Presidency.
President Zardari arrived at the Presidency wearing a black sherwani to attend the ceremony. After the national anthem, the newly-elected president inspected the Guard of Honor presented by the armed forces.
Subsequently, President Asif Ali Zardari greeted the officers and staff of the Presidency with handshakes, symbolizing the formal commencement of his presidential duties.
The ceremony was attended by prominent political figures, including Bilawal Bhutto, Asifa Bhutto, Bakhtawar Bhutto, and their sisters, among others.
It is noteworthy that Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Gulzar Ahmed, administered the oath of office to President Asif Ali Zardari the previous day, marking the official beginning of his tenure as the head of state.
Asif Ali Zardari’s reception of the Guard of Honor and subsequent interaction with officials signify the ceremonial and practical aspects of assuming the presidency, highlighting the formalities and responsibilities associated with the highest office in the country.
