Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Calls for Unity Against Vengeful Politics, Outlines PPP Agenda

In a fervent address during a public gathering in Lahore, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), asserted that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is settling scores with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), emphasizing that his party, too, has endured injustices akin to those faced by the PML-N. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called for a departure from the politics of revenge and highlighted the need for a government committed to truth and accountability.

Expressing concern over security challenges and the resurgence of terrorism, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari underscored the imperative to thwart the efforts of those promoting hatred and division in society. He criticized the policies of the PTI and called for an end to vengeful politics, particularly highlighting the inappropriate incarceration of opposition leaders’ sisters and daughters, emphasizing that this is not a political solution.

During the gathering, notable figures like Asif Ali Zardari, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Chaudhry Siraj, Chaudhry Manzoor, Samina Khalid Ghurki, and Khurram Nawaz Gandapur were also present. Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, a senior PPP leader and prominent legal expert, expressed his unwavering commitment to the party and its ideals.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari acknowledged the challenges faced by the common people due to economic crises and societal issues. He criticized the extravagant subsidies of the ruling elite and proposed an extensive agenda focused on public welfare. This included initiatives such as providing free electricity through solar energy, granting ownership of 30 lakh houses built across the country to women, and offering interest-free loans to women.

Furthermore, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari outlined the PPP’s commitment to establishing forums for truth and reconciliation after forming the government, aiming to bury the hatchet on politics characterized by hatred and revenge. He urged political opponents to unite against the divisive politics that threatens the social fabric of the nation.

In a message directed at the PTI, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized that Lahore belongs to the people, not any particular political party. He reminded the audience of Lahore’s history of resilient and committed citizens, citing the city’s role in both protesting the killing of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and welcoming Benazir Bhutto as the first female Prime Minister of the Muslim world.

As Bilawal Bhutto Zardari laid out the PPP’s ten-point agenda, he signaled a departure from traditional politics of certificates and fatwas, advocating for policies grounded in justice, inclusivity, and the belief in the power of the people.
