High-level security meetings convened to address escalating tensions between Pakistan and Iran.

Today, the National Security Council (NSC) and the caretaker federal cabinet are set to convene to assess the intensifying situation between Pakistan and Iran. The recent exchange of attacks by both nations in each other’s territories will be the focal point of discussion.

The NSC session, presided over by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, is scheduled for 4:30 pm, following a slight adjustment in timing from the initial 2:45 pm slot. The meeting will be attended by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Naval Chief, Chief of the Air Staff, and other high-ranking officials from intelligence agencies.

The agenda includes a comprehensive briefing on the tense relations between Pakistan and Iran, with the expectation of crucial decisions being made during the meeting.

Simultaneously, the caretaker federal cabinet will also convene to discuss the prevailing national security situation.

In a related development, Pakistan conducted targeted strikes on outlawed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) hideouts in Iran early Thursday morning. This action was in response to a provocative Iranian cross-border missile strike. Notably, the Pakistani forces focused on terrorist organizations operating in Balochistan, refraining from targeting military installations or civilians during the “Marg Bar Sarmachar” operation.

Utilizing missiles, rockets, and drones, Pakistan executed pinpoint strikes approximately 40 kilometers inside Iran, targeting key BLA and BLF leaders along with their families. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the elimination of terrorists involved in acts of terrorism in Pakistan, including individuals such as Dosta alias Chairman, Bajjar alias Soghat, Sahil alias Shafaq, Asghar alias Basham, Wazir alias Wazi, among others.

The ISPR emphasized the military’s perpetual state of readiness to safeguard Pakistan’s citizens against terrorism. It reiterated the unwavering commitment to uphold the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan, expressing determination to defeat all adversaries with the support of the Pakistani people.
