Tottenham Hotspur’s Spanish left-back, Sergio Reguilon, has secured a loan move to Brentford until the end of the season, as he failed to make a lasting impression at Manchester United.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “Sergio is a perfect fit for us: a proven Premier League player in every aspect. He fits what we want. He’s very offensive, has a very good cross and a very good left foot.”
Reguilon, a Spain international, initially joined Tottenham from Real Madrid in 2020 after a successful loan spell at Sevilla. However, his performance declined in the second season, leading to a loan move to Manchester United in September, where he made 12 appearances under Erik ten Hag.
Frank emphasized Reguilon’s experience and character as valuable additions to the squad. “We need him, but I also think he needs us to show how good a footballer he is. I’m convinced that this will be a positive partnership,” said the Brentford manager.
