Caretaker Minister of Interior, Sarfraz Ahmad Bugti, affirmed on Thursday the interim government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring peaceful elections in the country. Speaking with a private television channel, he pledged full security for the election commission to conduct the upcoming elections in a serene environment.
Bugti acknowledged the formidable challenge of controlling terrorism and stressed the collective responsibility of the entire nation to engage in the ongoing war against terror for renewed success. He highlighted the nation’s confrontation with an intelligence-driven proxy war, financed by hostile agencies, including RAW.
Responding to inquiries about the involvement of Afghan individuals in criminal activities, Bugti addressed reports of their participation in criminal and terrorist acts. He assured that crucial measures are being implemented on borders to prevent criminals from entering and disrupting peace.
When asked about security threats to political parties before elections, Bugti noted TTP’s favorable disposition towards PTI but acknowledged that leaders of other political parties have faced challenges from banned groups.
Bugti concluded by affirming that the caretaker government is exerting all-out efforts to eradicate a new wave of terrorism in the country, underscoring their dedication to comprehensive strategies and measures to ensure a secure and stable environment.
