Counter terrorism department (CTD) arrests nine terrorists in intelligence-based operations across Punjab.

In a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across various cities of Punjab, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) claims to have apprehended nine terrorists. The operations, aimed at dismantling potential threats, were carried out in the cities of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sialkot, and Hafizabad.

Key details of the operations include:

  1. Lahore Operation:
    • Two individuals were arrested in Lahore for allegedly providing financial assistance to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
    • The abettors were reportedly involved in funding activities linked to terrorism.
  2. Seized Items:
    • During the operations, law enforcement recovered explosive material, two hand grenades, weapons, and a sum of cash.
    • The confiscated items indicate a potential threat to important installations within the province.
  3. Identified Suspects:
    • The arrested terrorists were identified as Abdul Rehman, Abdul Waheed, Azeem, Sufyan, Zaman, Siddique, Sajjad Jutt, Imran Ali, and Umar Farooq.
    • Each suspect is believed to be associated with activities that pose a security risk to citizens.
