NEPRA Concludes Inquiry Against Power Distribution Companies, Declares Legal Action

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has completed its inquiry into power distribution companies, announcing legal action against all electricity distributors, including the violation of sending overage bills and delayed billing periods.

In a recent statement, NEPRA revealed that the investigation uncovered irregularities committed by electricity distribution companies in sending average bills and billing periods exceeding 30 days. The regulatory authority expressed its concern over faulty meters and incorrect billing, prompting a directive for the immediate replacement of defective meters and rectification of inaccurate bills by the distribution companies within a specified timeframe.
