During his visit to Muzaffarabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif acknowledged the uncontrollable nature of natural calamities and expressed condolences to the victims of heavy rains and snowfall in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.
Addressing the impact of the calamity, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that eight people in Azad Kashmir lost their lives, and he emphasized that in the face of such disasters, there is no option but to bow before God Almighty.
“I have come here today to express my condolences, regret, and to pray for the forgiveness of the deceased and the speedy recovery of the injured,” he conveyed.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to aiding the victims, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that the rehabilitation and settlement of the affected families in their homes are the top priorities. To support the families, Rs2 million each will be provided to those who lost their loved ones, while every injured individual will receive Rs5 lac.
Furthermore, those whose houses were completely destroyed in the natural calamity will be compensated with Rs7 lac each, and those with partially damaged homes will receive Rs3 lac, according to the prime minister.
In a gesture of direct support, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the victims of heavy rains and snowfall, distributing relief checks to assist them in coping with the aftermath of the calamity. The commitment to ongoing assistance and the immediate provision of financial aid underscores the government’s dedication to the well-being and recovery of those affected by the natural disaster.
