On the occasion of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Foundation Day in Quetta, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chairman of PPP, emphasized the need for a new approach to politics and governance in the country. Addressing the gathering, he stressed the importance of unity over division, stating that PPP’s focus lies in addressing issues like poverty, inflation, and unemployment, rather than engaging in divisive politics.
Bilawal asserted that while other political parties represent the elite class, PPP stands as the voice of the common people. He highlighted PPP’s commitment to bring forth the “People’s Charter of Economy” as a response to the ongoing discourse about the Charter of Economy. He expressed that PPP would ensure that the representation of the youth is not limited to token gestures, promising to introduce “Youth Cards” for the betterment of young Pakistanis.
Reflecting on the achievements of Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal acknowledged the end of politics fueled by hatred, President Zardari’s role in initiating the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and the 18th constitutional amendment. He credited Zardari for working towards the welfare of the poor, citing examples such as subsidies for farmers through the “Kisan Card” initiative.
Bilawal Bhutto outlined his vision for the future, promising initiatives like the “Be Nazeer Mazdoor Card” to secure rights for laborers. He also addressed issues specific to Balochistan, assuring that a PPP-led government would bring a Jiyala as the Chief Minister, establish a major hospital for cardiac care in Quetta, and continue representing the province effectively.
Nisar Khoro, another PPP representative, echoed Bilawal’s sentiments during his address, praising the resilience and resistance ingrained in the party’s history. He pledged that if PPP comes to power, they will serve the people once again.
Bilawal Bhutto’s speech centered around the need for a shift in political discourse, advocating for inclusivity, and promising policies that prioritize the welfare of the common people. The event marked not only the celebration of PPP’s Foundation Day but also served as a platform for outlining the party’s progressive vision for the future.
