Former Federal Minister and Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan have announced his inclusion in the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N), expressing pride in his association with the party. However, he indicated a shift in his political alignment, citing Nawaz Sharif’s policy on political stability as the driving factor for his decision. Addressing a press conference in Islamabad alongside PML-N’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Amir Muqam, General Secretary Murtaza Javed Abbasi, and Sardar Yousaf, Waqar Ahmed Khan emphasized the importance of political stability for economic prosperity in any country.
During the press conference, Waqar Ahmed Khan mentioned that achieving economic stability requires a cohesive political environment, and bringing all political parties together on one platform was a significant task. He disclosed that he had been in talks with Amir Muqam and Murtaza Javed Abbasi for the past two years. The former minister noted a shift in focus during his meeting with former Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, indicating his realization that it was time to align with the PML-N.
Waqar Ahmed Khan highlighted the urgency of the situation, emphasizing that the Muslim League (N) had played a crucial role in steering the country away from the default position it found itself in under the leadership of Ishaq Dar and the economic team. He praised the party’s bold decisions and selfless commitment, stating that the PML-N had successfully navigated the country through crises by making courageous choices and putting the nation’s interest above all.
