In a significant turn of events, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has taken action to halt the operations of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and suspended its officials. This move aims to guarantee transparent and impartial elections as per the prime minister’s instructions.
As stated in an official notification by the PBS, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has been instructed to cease its activities, except for the ongoing training camp for the Asian Games and essential team management functions.
The suspension has been initiated to ensure the implementation of unbiased and equitable elections after a comprehensive examination of clubs across the nation, as outlined in the notification.
Recently, the Prime Minister’s office issued a notification instructing the Ministry for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) to file a reference against the PHF with the FIA. Additionally, the PSB has been directed to oversee the conduction of transparent and equitable elections for the federation, adhering to the directives of the Prime Minister.
