Pakistan’s pace sensation, Shaheen Shah Afridi, has climbed to the pinnacle of the International Cricket Council (ICC) One-Day International (ODI) bowling rankings following his stellar performance against Bangladesh in the World Cup.
The 23-year-old speedster has seized the number one position in the ICC ODI rankings, amassing an impressive seven-point gain. Trailing him are Australia’s Josh Hazelwood and India’s Mohammed Siraj in the second and third positions, respectively.
Shaheen’s remarkable feat came on Tuesday when he became the quickest fast bowler to achieve the milestone of 100 wickets in ODIs during the match against Bangladesh.
On a parallel front, Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam, continues to maintain his leadership in the batting rankings. India’s Shubman Gill is hot on his heels, trailing by just two points. Babar boasts 818 points, whereas Shubman stands at 816.
Fakhar Zaman has shown significant improvement in his ranking, securing the 14th position, while Imamul Haq currently holds the 11th position. Moreover, fast bowler Haris Rauf has seen his rankings surge by five points, now occupying the 26th position. Wasim Jr has achieved a remarkable jump of 18 points, landing at the 56th position.
