Karachi Whites secured a resounding victory over Faisalabad in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final, clinching the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. The final match, held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, witnessed an impressive display of cricket prowess as Karachi Whites outperformed their opponents, Faisalabad.
The final day of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy saw Faisalabad commencing their second innings with 129 runs for the loss of six wickets. Captain Faheem Ashraf played a pivotal role, leading the resistance and completing a century. Ashraf contributed 147 runs to the team’s total, featuring 23 boundaries and two sixes. Despite his commendable effort, Faisalabad fell short, bowled out for 333 runs, leaving them with the daunting task of chasing down a target of 790 runs set by Karachi Whites.
Ghulam Mudassar, representing Karachi Whites, was instrumental in securing three crucial wickets during the final innings of the match, putting the opposition under significant pressure.
In the first innings of the final, Saif Badar, who scored a double century, was named the Player of the Match, while Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed received the Player of the Tournament award. Sarfaraz’s remarkable performance throughout the tournament included a total of 697 runs and 27 catches.
