Cyclonic Storm ‘Tej’ Changes Course, Poses No Threat to Pakistan’s Coastal Areas

Cyclonic Storm ‘Tej,’ initially positioned in the southwestern Arabian Sea, has changed its course and no longer poses a threat to Pakistan’s coastal areas, as per the Cyclone Warning Center.

The center has reported that ‘Tej’ is currently located approximately 1,850 kilometers southwest of Karachi and around 1,720 kilometers from the south and southwest of Gwadar.

According to the Cyclone Warning Center, the storm is now positioned about 960 kilometers to the southeast of Salalah, a city in Oman.

Furthermore, the center has indicated that ‘Tej’ could intensify into a severe cyclonic storm with a trajectory towards the coasts of Oman and Yemen, but it no longer presents any danger to the coastal regions of Pakistan.

This update provides relief to the residents and authorities of Pakistan, as the cyclone’s change in direction ensures that the country’s coastal areas are no longer under threat from the storm. Nonetheless, neighboring regions in Oman and Yemen may need to monitor the situation closely.
