Prime minister Shehbaz Sharif embarks on key two-day visit to belarus to boost bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed for the Republic of Belarus on a two-day official visit, following an invitation from Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Accompanying the prime minister is a high-level delegation comprising Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and other senior officials.

This visit comes in the wake of President Lukashenko’s significant trip to Pakistan in November 2024, reflecting the growing momentum in bilateral relations.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet with President Lukashenko to assess the progress made in various areas of mutual interest.

Over the last six months, the two nations have engaged in multiple high-level exchanges, including the 8th Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) in February 2025 and a follow-up visit by a major ministerial delegation from Pakistan to Belarus in April 2025. These engagements have laid a solid foundation for the prime minister’s current trip.

Several agreements are expected to be signed during the visit, aiming to deepen cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit highlights the enduring and strengthening partnership between Pakistan and Belarus.
