The United States Embassy in Islamabad, along with the US Consulates General in Lahore and Karachi, has announced the temporary suspension of visa services, cancelling all scheduled appointments until March 6.
According to US diplomatic officials, the decision was taken as a precautionary measure in light of the prevailing security situation. During this period, all visa interviews and related appointments will remain cancelled.
The embassy has advised applicants to regularly check the official website and monitor email notifications for further instructions and updates regarding new appointment dates.
Officials said the security environment is being continuously assessed, and an announcement about the resumption of visa services will be made once conditions stabilise.
The move comes as several diplomatic missions operating in Pakistan have temporarily adjusted their routine activities amid heightened security concerns following recent developments in the region.
