Google has introduced a new feature in its Gemini app that lets users get instant responses using an ‘Answer Now’ button, allowing them to bypass the AI’s deeper “thinking” process and receive a reply immediately.
The feature is now available for Gemini 3 Pro and Gemini 3 Thinking/Flash users, who will see the ‘Answer Now’ option next to the spinning status indicator while Gemini is processing a query. Notably, Google has excluded this feature from the Fast model, as it already prioritizes speed by default.
Updated usage limits
According to 9To5Google, Google has also separated daily usage limits for its models:
- AI Pro tier:
- 300 Thinking prompts/day
- 100 Pro prompts/day
- AI Ultra tier:
- 1,500 Thinking prompts/day
- 500 Pro prompts/day
These new limits also apply to free users, labeled as “Basic access” for both Thinking and Pro models.
How ‘Answer Now’ works
To use the feature, users simply ask a general question and tap the Answer Now button. This instructs Gemini to “skip in-depth thinking,” producing a near-instant response. As seen via the three-dot menu at the end of replies, the feature forces Gemini to stick with the selected model rather than switching to a Fast mode.
Other recent Gemini updates
Google has also rolled out “Personal Intelligence,” which allows Gemini to tailor responses by accessing your Google ecosystem, such as Gmail, Photos, and YouTube/Search history. Importantly, this feature is turned off by default, and users can choose which apps Gemini is allowed to connect with.
Google says the new ‘Answer Now’ option replaces the previous Skip button and is rolling out today to both free and paid Gemini users on Android, iOS, and the web, making quick AI answers more accessible than ever.
