PCB to Auction Multan Sultans Franchise Ahead of PSL 11.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to auction the ownership rights of the Multan Sultans franchise ahead of the upcoming 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

According to the PCB, interested parties have been formally invited to submit bids for the franchise, marking a shift from the board’s earlier plan to operate the team on an interim basis.

Initially, the PCB had opted to run the Multan Sultans franchise for one year. However, following the record-breaking sale of two new PSL franchises, the board has now chosen to auction the Multan Sultans as well.

The Multan-based team was previously owned by businessman Ali Tareen.

Recently, the PCB confirmed the sale of two new PSL teams, expanding PSL 11 to eight teams, with Hyderabad and Sialkot set to join the league. Meanwhile, the PSL 11 players’ draft is expected to be held on January 30.
