The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) continues to enhance its services for Overseas Pakistanis by extending facilitation to those residing in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province of Dhahran, according to ARY News.
In a recent announcement, NADRA stated that its Mobile Registration Team, in collaboration with the Pakistani Embassy, will visit Dhahran on November 7 and 8 (Friday and Saturday). The mobile unit will operate from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Saudi time) at Tamimi New Camp, offering a range of services including the issuance of new identity cards, renewals, modifications, and other related facilities for Overseas Pakistanis in Dhahran and nearby areas.
In a separate development, NADRA’s newly developed anti-fraud software has uncovered over 250,000 fake Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), primarily issued to Afghan nationals. The software, designed to detect suspicious entries, revealed that many of these individuals obtained Pakistani CNICs through intermediaries by being falsely linked to local family trees.
Authorities have begun blocking the fraudulent CNICs. Affected individuals have been directed to visit NADRA offices and submit family verification documents to confirm their identities. Genuine CNICs will be reactivated upon successful verification.
Meanwhile, NADRA has introduced an online CNIC application facility, simplifying the process for citizens. Applicants can now apply through the Pak ID website or mobile app, eliminating the need for multiple office visits. Once approved, the CNIC will be delivered to their doorstep via courier service, saving applicants both time and effort.
For more details or to apply online, citizens can visit www.nadra.gov.pk or contact NADRA’s helpline at 1777.
Additionally, in a major relief measure, the Government of Pakistan has announced that citizens can now obtain their first CNIC free of cost within 15 days. Individuals aged 18 and above can apply at any NADRA center without paying any fee.
NADRA has also updated its CNIC renewal fee structure, now set at Rs 400 (normal), Rs 1,150 (urgent), and Rs 2,150 (executive), applicable during the month of October.
