Pakistan has warmly welcomed recent announcements by several countries recognizing the State of Palestine.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), praised declarations made by France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and others, calling them a triumph for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He urged more nations to extend recognition in accordance with international law, emphasizing that the two-state solution is essential for achieving just, comprehensive, and lasting peace.
According to the Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar represented Pakistan at a high-level meeting on the Palestine issue, co-hosted by Saudi Arabia and France. The spokesperson noted that the growing number of countries recognizing Palestine added greater significance to the conference.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Pakistan endorsed the “New York Declaration,” reaffirming its long-standing commitment to a just and sustainable peace. The Foreign Office highlighted that Pakistan was among the first countries to recognize Palestine in 1988 and continues to champion its full UN membership.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan described the two-state solution conference as a historic opportunity for peace, welcoming France’s recognition of Palestine. Meanwhile, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas appealed for broader international support for Palestinian independence, thanking nations that have extended recognition and commending Saudi Arabia and France for their leadership in mobilizing global consensus.
