Shehbaz Sharif meets Saudi crown prince at emergency Arab-Islamic Summit.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir were also present during the talks.

The two leaders discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East following Israel’s aggression. Prime Minister Shehbaz condemned the Israeli actions, terming them a deliberate attempt to derail peace efforts in the region. He also praised Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s leadership in uniting the Muslim Ummah at this critical juncture.

Assuring Pakistan’s full diplomatic backing, the Prime Minister reiterated support for Saudi Arabia at the United Nations Security Council, where Pakistan is currently a non-permanent member, as well as at multilateral forums such as the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the summit in Doha had sent a strong message of unity, affirming that the Muslim world stands collectively against Israel’s unlawful aggression, which threatens regional stability.

Reaffirming the historic brotherly ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the Prime Minister thanked the Crown Prince for the Kingdom’s consistent support to Pakistan in times of difficulty. He also conveyed his warm respects and regards for Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
