The devastating floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have left 335 people dead and 356 injured, according to a report by the provincial health department released on Sunday, ARY News reported.
On the directives of the Advisor to the Health Department, a detailed situational assessment was compiled to highlight healthcare activities across flood-hit districts.
- On August 22 alone, one death and six injuries were recorded.
- 27,270 patients were treated in 11 districts on that day through 3,704 medical camps and 23,566 health centers.
- Since the onset of floods, a staggering 262,006 patients have received medical care in the province.
The report also confirmed:
- 15,176 total cases of illnesses reported so far, including 3,156 new cases in the past 24 hours.
- 57 health facilities partially damaged, while 3 centers were completely destroyed.
To address the crisis, the provincial health department has deployed emergency medical camps and mobile health units to ensure essential services reach the affected communities.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is assisting the KP government and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in rescue and relief operations, under the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
