Auditorium No. 1 at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, reverberated with laughter as talented theater artists delivered side-splitting performances in the Urdu comedy play, “Biwi Ho Toh Apni,” on the fifth day of the ongoing Pakistan Theatre Festival.
This month-long theater extravaganza is a collaborative effort between the Arts Council of Pakistan and Geo News, bringing the magic of live performances to the heart of Karachi.
The play was masterfully directed by Ayesha Hasan, with a captivating story crafted by Kamal Ahmad Rizvi.
The stage came alive with vibrant characters portrayed by accomplished actors, including Hasan Raza, Farhan Alam, Zulfiqar Ghori, Anushka Khalid, Rabya Rizwan, Naveed, and Khizr Ansari.
The plot of the show revolves around Saleem, a middle-aged man, who finally decides to take the plunge into matrimony. However, the twist in the tale is that the bride he chooses, Amna, is less than half his age.
In true farcical fashion, chaos unfolds just as Saleem is on the verge of marital bliss. The ensuing hilarity follows Saleem and Amna as they attempt to navigate the complexities of their new life together, with the assistance of their trusty house help, Shakoor.
