American woman marries Pakistani man after Facebook friendship.

A heartwarming cross-cultural love story has unfolded in Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where an American woman, Mindy, married Sajid Zeb Khan after a two-year friendship that began on Facebook.

Originally from Chicago, Mindy embraced Islam and adopted the name Zulekha before solemnising her nikah with Sajid. Speaking to a local TV channel, Sajid shared that her arrival brought immense joy to their household. “She arrived just a day ago, and her presence has brought happiness to our home,” he said.

Mindy, a flight attendant by profession, landed at Islamabad International Airport, where Sajid warmly received her. From there, the couple journeyed to Usheri Dara in Upper Dir, where she was welcomed enthusiastically by the local community.

Reflecting on their journey, Sajid said their online friendship gradually turned into something deeper, leading Mindy to propose. Both families supported the relationship after open discussions.

In a video message recorded from Sajid’s home, Mindy expressed her excitement: “My name is Mindy and I’m from America. I’m here in Pakistan for the first time. It’s a very beautiful, peaceful country. I came here for Sajid Khan, and we plan to marry soon.”

Their union has since captured attention both online and within the local community, serving as another testament to how digital connections can transcend borders and cultures.
