Aamir Khan Shares how Javed miandad’s six spoiled his wedding day.

Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, recently took a trip down memory lane and shared a humorous yet emotional anecdote from his youth—how a legendary cricket moment turned his wedding day joy into unexpected disappointment.

Aamir revealed that at the age of 21, he and Reena Dutta decided to marry secretly due to opposition from their families. After their quiet ceremony, they returned home only to find both families completely immersed in a high-stakes cricket match between India and Pakistan.

The match in question was the iconic clash held in Sharjah on April 10, 1986—the very game in which Javed Miandad hit a historic last-ball six off Chetan Sharma, snatching victory for Pakistan and dealing a heartbreaking blow to India.

Aamir recalled that India had been in a winning position, and he was elated, thinking his wedding day would be sealed with a national triumph. But the dramatic last-ball six shattered that joy. “I was so upset after that,” he said, adding that the cricketing heartbreak overshadowed his wedding excitement.

Years later, when Aamir met Javed Miandad, he jokingly confronted him: “Javed Bhai, you didn’t do right to me!” A surprised Miandad asked what he meant, and Aamir quipped, “You ruined my wedding day with that six!”

The story not only highlights Aamir’s love for cricket but also shows how deeply sports can intertwine with personal milestones.
