Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Climate Change and Environment, Senator Sherry Rehman, on Thursday stated that Pakistan’s strategic importance on the global stage is steadily increasing, and the country’s international stature continues to rise.
Speaking on recent developments, Senator Rehman highlighted the significance of recent high-level engagements between Pakistan and the United States, describing them as pivotal for enhancing bilateral cooperation. She emphasized the vast potential for collaboration in sectors such as digital innovation and trade.
She noted that the U.S. President had acknowledged Pakistan’s positive role, expressing gratitude for its contributions—an encouraging sign of deepening mutual respect and understanding.
Commenting on the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, Senator Rehman reaffirmed Pakistan’s principled stance on regional peace.
“Iran is our neighbour, and no country in the region wants conflict,” she stated. “Pakistan firmly opposes aggression and believes that dialogue remains the only viable path to resolving disputes.”
Her remarks underscore Pakistan’s broader diplomatic approach—rooted in cooperation, regional stability, and peaceful engagement.
