The Pakistan Super League’s 10th season is officially set to resume on May 17, following a temporary suspension due to heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed on Tuesday that eight remaining matches will be played between May 17 and the grand finale on May 25. The decision comes after a ceasefire agreement between the two countries helped bring regional stability.
“PSL X picks up from where it left off! Six teams, zero fear. Let the aura take over as we unite and celebrate the spirit of cricket,” Naqvi said in a statement posted on social media.
All six PSL franchises will return for a high-stakes finish to the tournament. Fans across Pakistan have welcomed the news with enthusiasm, while security arrangements and logistical preparations are being ramped up at all venues.
The league was abruptly paused last week following a deadly escalation across the Pakistan-India border, which left 51 Pakistanis dead — including 40 civilians and 11 security personnel. The nation went into mourning, and the PCB decided to suspend the tournament out of respect and security concerns.
The 27th match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, scheduled for May 8 in Rawalpindi, was postponed after an Indian drone reportedly crashed near the stadium that morning, triggering alarm and tightening security protocols.
Initially, PCB considered relocating the remainder of the tournament to Dubai, but that option was shelved due to official advisories and logistical constraints. The PSL was placed on indefinite hold until conditions improved.
Now, with tensions eased and a ceasefire in place, the PCB is set to deliver a thrilling conclusion to PSL 10 — on home soil and in front of passionate fans.
